Ransom
Formed 1976 by drummer Mark Curran (formerly of Free Flight) and vocalist Frank Andrews (formerly of Chambermen) in Parkesburg, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Curran joined Lancaster County-based dance group High Tide led by singer Harold Troup, then on to tour with The Paul Christopher Group.
Curran relocated to Los Angeles and became an Elvis impersonator.
Survived by parents William F. Curran and Dorothy Gill Curran, of Exton Penssylvania.

In the history of Chester County bands, Ransom is considered by some to be one of the leading proponants of vocal-based country rock. Instilled with an iinate sense of musicianship, their reign was short-lived but influential.
